Bringing friends and families together since 1910, The Coolangatta Hotel sits right on the beachfront at the corner of Marine Parade and Warner Street. Known to locals as the Cooly Hotel, it is one of the Gold Coast's best-known live entertainment venues, with a restaurant, beer garden, gaming lounge, bandroom and function spaces all under one roof.
Nextrend has supported the hotel across two stages of work. The first refreshed the dining areas with Denver chairs in black vinyl with rustic timber backs, Astoria table bases fitted to the venue's existing tops, and Helen barstools in black and taupe.
The second stage focused on the hotel's high-traffic bar and beer garden spaces, where furniture needed to handle sun, sand and big crowds. Portofino bar stools in taupe, finished with tie-on outdoor-grade seat cushions, were paired with long A-Frame bar tables powder coated in white and fitted with lockable castors so the layout can be adjusted for events. These were topped with compact laminate in Alicante Stone, Natural Ply and Marmo Di Torre to suit the beachside setting.
Round Disco bar tables in white and Eiffel barstools with a natural frame and chocolate and crème rattan weave complete the look, adding texture and a relaxed coastal feel.
The result is a bright, durable fitout that suits the Cooly's laid-back beachfront character and keeps up with everything from a quiet lunch to a sold-out gig.
