Rose of Australia

Nextrend recently completed a refined furniture fitout at this much-loved Erskineville landmark, enhancing the ambience of its storied main bar while honouring its strong Art Deco heritage. The upgrade introduced fully customised Portland bar stools, xenolith tabletops and bespoke table bases—each piece selected and crafted to complement the character and warmth of the 1932 interior. The new seating elevates comfort and durability without compromising the venue’s iconic island bar, a feature long celebrated for fostering conversation, connection and the kind of spontaneous socialising that has defined this pub for generations.

As the heartbeat of the village and a gathering place for everyone from students and professionals to local identities and the occasional celebrity, the venue’s atmosphere thrives on authenticity. Owned and operated by the Leach family for more than 25 years, the pub’s community-centric spirit guided every design decision. The refreshed furnishings now support the venue’s diverse spaces—from the bustling Corner Bar with its craft beer and NSW wine offerings to Howards Cantina upstairs—ensuring guests can settle in comfortably for a quick drink, long lunch or an all-night session filled with “lies and laughter” from the staff who know their locals by name.
