The Client

The Criterion Hotel is a relaxed and friendly place for the whole family. There is an indoor game area which features a pool table and jukebox for some good grooves.

The front bar has some original oil painted murals depicting the bushrangers and the 1852 flood in the front bar which was also one of the most devastating natural disasters in Australian history.

There is a lovely big deck that is fabulous in all weather conditions. During the warmer months, there is a cool mist humidifier and blinds that block out the extreme sun whilst in the cooler months, you can pull the blinds right down to block out the wind and rain.​

The Criterion Hotel also features a sports bar showing all the latest games and events with a large touch screen TV and TAB available, an air conditioned VIP Room, Bottlemart, Bistro and Accommodation.

The Suburb

Gundagai is a town in New South Wales, Australia. Although a small town, Gundagai is a popular topic for writers and has become a representative icon of a typical Australian country town. Located along the Murrumbidgee River and Muniong, Honeysuckle, Kimo, Mooney Mooney, Murrumbidgee and Tumut mountain ranges, Gundagai is 390 kilometres (240 mi) south-west of Sydney. Until 2016, Gundagai was the administrative centre of Gundagai Shire local government area. In the 2016 census the population of Gundagai was 1,925.

The Gundagai area is part of the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri speaking people, while there is a considerable folklore associated with Aboriginal cultural and spiritual beliefs in the area. The floodplains of the Murrumbidgee below the present town of Gundagai were a frequent meeting place of the Wiradjuri.

The first moves to establish ‘Gundagai’ as a township were in 1838 with plans for the new settlement of Gundagae on the Murrumbidgee, about 54 miles beyond Yass … advertised for viewing at the office of the Surveyor-General in Sydney.

What We Did

To furnish the deck at the Criterion Hotel, Nextrend was engaged to supply Air Barstools and Air Chairs for the seating.  These were then match with Astoria Table Bases and Gentas Rustic Blockwood Table Tops.  The owners also utilised Rustic Blockwood Table Tops, mounted to barrels and cut down to use as a long bar table for the back of the deck.

Borella Seafood is situated on the Cnr Borella Rd & Electra St Albury, NSW.  With a vision to bring the coast to the country and provide a premium quality product and service that is unequalled by others, Borella Seafood specialise in cooking fresh fish and seafood.  In addition to being a Fish & Chip shop, Borella also sells Fresh Seafood to the retail and wholesale market as well as offers a catering service.

The Suburb

Albury is an Australian city in southern New South Wales. It sits on the border with Victoria, hugging the vast Murray River. In the centre, the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) showcases contemporary works, including photography and indigenous art. Paths run through landscaped lawns at the Botanic Gardens, which also include a children’s garden. Monument Hill features WWI and WWII memorials, and views over the city.

What We Did

Nextrend Furniture worked with Borella Seafood to expand on the base range of furniture already in store.  Matching the Astoria Table bases on their existing tables Nextrend provided additional bases to allow for additional dining.  Inox table tops were also supplied for the outdoor dining area.  As the dining area increased matching air chairs and air barstools were also supplied.

The Turvey Tavern is a single level red brick pub that sits on 1,644sqm, in the heart of Wagga Wagga. It was one of the early forays into pubs by former Qantas boss Geoff Dixon, now known for his part in Australian Pub Fund and Riversdale.

Wagga Wagga (informally called Wagga) is a major regional city in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. What We Did

The Turvey and Nextrend have enjoyed a great relationship, with Nextrend providing furniture on an ongoing basis. The latest additions include new tables and chairs in the indoor / outdoor dining area.

Mick’s Bakehouse is  located at 56 Pine Avenue, Leeton NSW 2705.

 

 The Suburb 

Leeton is a town located in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales, Australia. Situated approximately 550 km west of Sydney and 450 km north of Melbourne in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. Situated in one of the most productive farming regions in the state, the town was designed by Walter Burley Griffin and purpose-built for the irrigation schemes announced by the New South Wales government in the early 1900s. Citrus, rice, cotton, grapes, walnuts and wheat farms can all be found throughout the Leeton Shire.

What We Did

We worked with Mick’s Bakehouse in order to supply high quality, cafe furniture that could be used inside and out.  Featuring the Ares Chair and Gentas table in Rustic Dark Oak, the new furniture has transformed the interior of this award winning bakery in Leeton.
