What We Did

It is our ability to serve both indoor and outdoor seating requirements of our clients that has allowed us to form great working relationships with the likes of Lake Mac Holiday Parks.

In the fitout of their new Inclusive Villas, Lake Mac Holiday Parks sought lounge seating as well as dining chairs and tables for both in the Villa and on the deck. Commercial grade Neptune & Samba Lounges were selected as their foundational pieces for the lounge area, and Avila indoor/outdoor table base with white Gentas Tops create a link between the indoor and outdoor dining space. Resin rattan Ibiza Outdoor Armchairs were used on the deck with Avoca Chairs used for the internal dining area.

The Suburb

Newcastle is a harbour city in the Australian state of New South Wales. Its plentiful beaches are linked by the Bathers Way, a coastal walk stretching between Nobbys Beach and Merewether Beach. The walk provides access to Bogey Hole, a convict-built ocean bath from the colonial period. Also on the path is the 1880s Fort Scratchley, a historic site and a viewpoint for spotting migrating whales.

In September 1797 Lieutenant John Shortland became the first European settler to explore the area. His discovery of the area was largely accidental; as he had been sent in search of a number of convicts who had seized a locally-built vessel called Cumberland as she was sailing from Sydney Cove.[11] While returning, Lt. Shortland entered what he later described as “a very fine river”, which he named after New South Wales’ Governor John Hunter.[12] He returned with reports of the deep-water port and the area’s abundant coal. Over the next two years, coal mined from the area was the New South Wales colony’s first export.[12]

The old central business district, located at Newcastle’s eastern end, still has a considerable number of historic buildings, dominated by Christ Church Cathedral, seat of the Anglican Bishop of Newcastle.[28] Other noteworthy buildings include Fort Scratchley, the Ocean Baths, the old Customs House, the 1920s City Hall, the 1890s Longworth Institute (once regarded as the finest building in the colony) and the 1930s art deco University House (formerly NESCA House, seen in the film Superman Returns).

What We Did

With the Newcastle City Business Centre having several Boardrooms that double as Training rooms, Nextrend were engaged to provide seating appropriate for this dual function.  Utilising the Avoca Chair, with their mix of chrome legs and bentwood shell, these chairs compliment their surroundings.
